What is Global Search in Progress Retail?

Global Search is an AI feature that allows you to instantly find answers, insights, and resources across the Progress Retail platform. Instead of browsing through menus or manually searching, you can type a topic or a question (e.g. "What are our core values?") and the search results will appear.

Why It's Different:

• Unlike traditional keyword search, Global Search understands the intent behind your query with AI. 

• This means you don’t need to know the exact wording of a document, product, or process—you just type a topic, or ask a question, and the system interprets it to find the most relevant information.

Who Has Access:

• Global Search is available to all users. 

• However, access to content will respect your role-based permissions—meaning users will not be able to access search results that derive from content outside their role permissions.

Global Search is trained to understand your organization’s content. While it delivers highly relevant results, it’s always best to double-check key policies or compliance-related information, and to ensure that said policies and information are up-to-date,  clear, and without conflicting information contained within or in other library or course assets.
